Robert Seder, Chief, Cellular Immunology, NIAID, National Institutes of Health:

“Every day there were new pieces of information that we had to integrate. And it was coming from everywhere in the world. I mean, it was the first time there was this sort of public forum for science and clinical development. It has been a global scientific and clinical collaboration that is unprecedented. And the most exciting and exhausting aspect is the amount of information we all receive on – literally – a minute-to-minute basis. There's so much information and there's a desperate need to share it. I'm on calls with people that are scientists or virologists that I have never met, so there’s a new community now, and before this I might never have met or known these people.”

“It has changed the face of global collaboration. And the speed of data. You could say that globally, data became a form of media because we were getting data in real time from around the world. And that was dramatic. All the scientists were working together – we're still all working together – on the same thing.”
